My wife, Lydia Williams, works with Healthy Families and often promotes similar ideas or messages. I really like them also and would like to share a couple. When I am tempted to worry about what might be happening to someone not with me, I often note or actually say to myself: ORG. This simply means Odds are (R) Good that this person is okay. This is based on the idea that most of the time the odds are in favor of a positive situation. In other situations when I may be unduly fretting I sometimes say to myself, over and over if necessary, OMC: Out of My Control. Both of these self saying/notes often help me move on, even if I have to repeat them a few times. So I also find practices like Ms. Kissner's to be most helpful and join her and my wife in encouraging such positive practices. After all ORG that many things will be just fine, if not better.
