Bowling Marathon a Success!

Bowlers Amber Berry (HIP team captain) and Sarah Holland (HCP/HIP)

We are pleased to share that the 100-Frame Bowling Marathon fundraiser yesterday to benefit the Hospitality Certification Program (HCP) was a HUGE success! Who knew that bowling could be such fun – AND make such a difference for the homeless in our community.

HCP, a program offered through HealthNet’s Homeless Initiative Program, assists Hoosiers with disabilities that have experienced homelessness in finding and keeping long-term employment. Due to recent governmental budget cuts, funding for HCP and programs like it has been eliminated nationwide.

The goal of Thursday’s fundraiser was to help bridge the gap between the program’s current funding, which ends September 30, and the long-term funding that the program is seeking to secure.

Participating bowlers had fun asking co-workers, friends and family members to sponsor them by pledging a donation per frame played or a lump sum amount. As of last night, the event has raised $4,846! And, all the bowlers had a great time bowling for such a good cause!  Visit our Facebook page to check out more photos from the event!

If you have already made a pledge, thank you for your support. If you haven’t given yet but would still like to support HIP’s team, you have until this Sunday to check out HIP’s page.

Let’s keep the Hospitality Certification Program alive in Indy!
