Pledging for a better you and a healthier Indianapolis community

This week is National Women’s Health Week – a weeklong health observance coordinated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human ServicesOffice on Women’s Health. It brings together communities, businesses, government, health organizations, and other groups in an effort to promote women’s health. HealthNet would like to join these efforts of promoting the theme “It’s Your Time.”

HealthNet providers are here not only to care for the sick, but also to empower women to make their health a top priority. They also encourage women to take steps to improve their physical and mental health and lower their risks of certain diseases.

The ninth annual National Women’s Checkup Day was held on Monday, May 9th and HealthNet would like to dedicate its own Indy Women’s Checkup Day for Friday, May 13th.  We would like to encourage ALL women to pick up the phone and schedule a visit with their health care provider to receive a checkup this year.

Your commitment is vital to the early detection of heart disease, diabetes, breast cancer, mental health illnesses, cervical cancer, and other conditions.

If you have already had your annual exam or are scheduled for a recommended preventative screening this year – then congratulations on making a commitment to a better you because “It’s Your Time!!” Now maybe consider helping build a healthier Indianapolis community by supporting HealthNet’s Mammography Services and other preventative care programs. Help women living in poverty realize that “It’s Their Time Too!”

Did you know that it was National Women’s Health Week?  What do you have planned or are now GOING to plan because of it?
